DOES THIS PRACTICE ACCEPT INSURANCE?

This practice is a fee for service practice and does not bill through insurance. However, we will prepare a superbill for you.

WHAT IS A SUPERBILL? HOW DOES IT WORK?

A superbill is a receipt of services that includes the necessary information for your insurance to reimburse you for services.

Depending on your plan, most insurance companies have a process to reimburse a percentage of your out of network fees, but you have to ask to make sure.  You will need to call your insurance company to arrange for submitting a superbill and to receive reimbursement for services.

While Dr. Kron’s practice is not responsible for insurance reimbursements, here are some questions and steps to consider:

  • call the member number found on your insurance card.

  • tell your insurance provider that you would like to submit a superbill for psychiatric services.

  • ask how much will they cover for an out of network psychiatric evaluation and ongoing psychiatric services.

  • ask where you can send the superbill (ie, fax number), and how you can follow up to ensure they received it.

  • the insurance company should then send you the reimbursement money.  Ask what the timeline is for receiving your reimbursement, confirm they have your address (or how you will get it), and what number you can call or how you can track your payment.
